Bklink: The Cost of Light

When all is said and done, lighting up the Parachute Jump will have cost $3.45 million, give or take. Last week, Borough President Marty Markowitz announced a $2 million redo of the lighting designed by Leni Schwendinger and the city issued an RFP for the job. Mr. Markowitz is now calling it "Phase II" of the illumination project. What is now known as Phase I cost $1.45 million. The RFP calls for "a very dramatic illumination" of the landmark known as Brooklyn's Eiffel Tower.--Brooklyn Paper
