Protesters at Nathan's Hot Dog Contest

What would an event--any event--be without some protesters? The Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest attracted a few non-hot dog eaters yesterday, as you can see in some of these pics posted to flickr, above and below.

Vegetarian advocates make me want to club baby seals. Ok, not really...but seriously, let us eat meat in peace. It's the way of the world - the natural order of life. Also, baby cows are soooooo delicious.

as the hot dog said to its eater...
BITE ME!
Got anything else to write about, like --OMG-- a blue wall going up in Red Hook or a rain-filled hole in Billyburg?
