A bunch of cool Coney photos, many of which look like they were shot from a cherry picker on the boardwalk on a foggy day, are finally online along with a short essay on Coney Island. A sample: "Like most oceanfront real estate, Coney Island has forever attracted self-anointed improvers with all manner of motives. It has withstood high-minded attempts at preservation and low-minded development big-footing by the likes of Robert Moses, Fred Trump, and Rudy Giuliani. A succession of promoters have blended right in with the three-card-monte sharps, hawking casinos, luxury hotels and condos, office buildings, mall-enclosed indoor amusement parks, the inevitable inflatable giant water slide, and whatever 'revitalization' fantasies Michael Bloomberg entertained while trying to seduce the International Olympic Committee."
