Brooklyn, Urban Outfitters Style

Urban Outfitters Brooklyn

This poster for the new Urban Outfitters opening on Atlantic Avenue today was found and posted by Gothamist yesterday, which means most readers have probably seen it. For those that haven't, behold the odd mishmash of Brooklyn images the retailer has thrown together. Gothamist called it "bizarre" and "befuddling."

The Cosby Show??? Dumbo? Is that to alude to the electrocution of that big elephant in Luna Park years ago? I'm surprised they got the rights to a Disney character and to Bill Cosby.
Stupid. At least UO didn't deface the front of that amazing building it sits inside of.

I guess because they are not targeting colloge dorm rooms at this location, their R&D people were at a loss of what to put on the poster. Still, The random images are stupid. Welcome back Kotter wasn't in Brooklyn? Was it? Still, it's stupid. All of it and it's dumb and insulting and totally uncreative poo.

the creative team responsible is just giggling away at all this negative commentary. They get their paychecks with plenty extra to spill on Fosters Oil cans. They can keep doing what they did back at the high school yearbook staff. It is all good. They'll have to learn their life lessons another way - or maybe they'll come to Brooklyn one day.
