Street Couch Series: Greenpoint Pastoral

This collection comes from Greenpoint and we will let Miss Heather explain: "This melange of discarded furniture is located in front of Ladder 106 on Greenpoint Avenue right off McGuinness Boulevard. This is arguably one of the noisiest--and when the wind is just right--smelliest sections of the Garden Spot. The magazine rack is a nice touch." We can vouch for the crappy smell from the sewage plant.

Street Couch Series: Friendly Naugahyde

The very friendly naugahyde chairs come from Bedford Avenue in Bed-Stuy. They're not couches, per se, but they're street furniture and, you know, they fit together. Miss Heather contributed the photo.

Street Couch Series: Green Street Sun Chair

One does expect, at this point, to begin finding couches and chairs that have been dragged or carried outside for the purpose of planting oneself in the sun and relaxing or hanging out. Such would appear to be the case with this Street Chair (which, of course, is not strictly a Street Sofa, but is generically on topic for us). Miss Heather found it on Green Street in Greenpoint recently, where it was ideally positioned to enjoy what the day had to offer.

Street Couch Series: Tattered on Boerum Street

This blue couch, which has seen better days, but is out on the street just in time for warm weather, comes from Boerum Street in East Williamsburg. Miss Heather sent it our way.

Street Couch Series: Van Brunt Street Rocker

Yes, this is Street Furniture as opposed to a Street Couch, nonetheless, the point is the same, and with nice weather here that can only mean that it's time to drag the finest out to the sidewalk all over Brooklyn and to enjoy. This comes from Van Brunt Street and the camera of Miss Heather.

This impressive street couch, which still might have many good years of service ahead of it were it not for the fact that it's been tossed out on the street, comes from President Street in Carroll Gardens, a neighborhood from which we don't often get street sofas. It was found near Carroll Park by the blogger who produces Lost City, who was kind enough to photograph it and send it our way.

Street Couch Series: Java Street Comfy Chair

We have always believed that Greenpoint offers the most comfortable and intact street furniture, and today's submission from Miss Heather, does nothing to disabuse us of the notion. It comes from Java Street and really looks like the kind of furniture that invites take a load off.

This very compelling piece of street furniture comes from Green Street in Greenpoint and it reaches us via the digicam of Miss Heather. Nice.

Street Couch Series: Clinton Hill Leather

This comfy-looking black leather piece of street furniture comes from Skillman Street in Clinton Hill. It was passed along by Miss Heather.

Street Couch Series: Recliner with TVs

This plush and once-proud recliner comes to us from Dekalb Avenue in Bed-Stuy where Miss Heather found it communing with a couple of old TV sets. While the staging suffers from the fact that the TVs have been carelessly placed behind the recliner, it's still easy to picture kicking back in it and watching.

Street Couch Series: Green Street Tartan

It is hard to say anything about this overturned Greenpoint sofa except that Miss Heather calls it the Green Street Tartan based on location and pattern.

No, not a sofa, but it's a very distinguished bit of street seating. It's from Harrison Avenue in Williamsburg and comes of course, from Miss Heather.

There's a certain something about the mass of this sofa and the way everything is piled atop it as it waits to meet its maker that is compelling. It comes from the camera of Miss Heather and was captured on Roebling Street in Williamsburg.

From Bedford Avenue in Bed-Stuy we have this specimen with what appears to be panels from a construction fence, painted that unmistakable blue, and some trash bags. It comes to us, of course, from Miss Heather.
