Ways to Chill Out, Part One: Ye Olde Gowanus Swimming Hole

AKA Il Lago di Whole Foods or the Gowanus Zee, this little patch of Brooklyn water is the pond on the future site of the Gowanus Whole Foods, which is not to be confused with the Dumbo Whole Foods. With the heat index way over 100, and nary a tree to be found on the brutal stretch of Third Street near Ye Olde Gowanus Swimming Hole, even this toxic puddle (Gowanus ground water seepage) starts looking mighty refreshing in a stranded in the desert and being delusional sort of way.
