Bklink: Third Avenue Renaissance?

Maybe it's a little premature to say that Third Avenue is about to become the new Fourth Avenue (or something like that), but there is clearly a lot of activity on and around this forlorn Gowanus boulevard. All you need to do is put everything together on a map and the picture crystallizes. In short, there is a lot going on as anyone can see in all the arrows.--Brownstoner

I live half a block away from Bar Tano and it was open last night and packed...walked by twice while running errands around 7PM and again at 930PM and the place was full both times. Seemed like a lot of Park Slopers, as I saw a bunch of families with their children dining in the tiny space. Hoping that it won't stay so crowded as it would be nice to stop in there for a drink after work without having to wait for a seat at the bar.

I too live on the next block and I may have been one of the people the previous commenter was talking about who was filling up the place around 7. He/she missed a good time. They're definitely getting a good reception in a neighborhood that desperately needed more places like Bar Tano.

11:53AM here - I had no intention of going in there on that particular night as I was having friends over for a dinner party where the booze was already purchased and awaiting consumption. No need to go to a bar/restaurant when the food is already on the table.

Also, if a place is full [which it was] how exactly is one supposed to miss out if they can't actually fit inside the place? How anyone could take my original comment and think I was specifically talking about them requires a level of self-importance that I'm not familiar with.
