A little over a week ago, we noted that
a rat poisoning campaign was underway at
475 Driggs, the property immediately to the west of
the Roebling Oil Building Warehouse 11. We've waiting for something indicating that the property has been sold or that the buildings were going to be demolished. As it turns out, last Thursday (2/28) an application was filed for a new five-story, 70-foot-tall building with 54 apartments that will be designed by Karl Fischer, the Roebling Oil architect. The only thing remaining is for another building to be built on the N. 10th Street side of the property. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see if the oil mess that bubbled to the surface before being removed on the rest of the property will be present when the west end is dug up.
